The IMF and World Bank opened their Annual Meetings on Monday, (October 9) in Marrakech, Morocco. It is the first Annual Meetings to take place in Africa in 50 years and brings together policymakers, academics, civil society and economic experts to tackle economic and development issues facing the world.
The city of Marrakesh will play host to dozens of events organized by the IMF and World Bank at a brand new conference site designed to be environmentally friendly and to showcase Moroccan culture, architecture and economic progress to the world.
Thousands of delegates from the 190 member countries will be on hand, along with over 1,200 registered media.
